About Us


Skip Hire was established in 1989 and has grown into a reputable organisation, offering waste management services to numerous role-players in the industry.

Our fleet of 63 vehicles that are manned by qualified personnel, ensures that sufficient resources exist to provide reliable and quality services. Some of Skip Hire’s larger clients include Debswana, First National Bank, Botswana Defence Force, Botswana Development Corporation, River Walk Shopping Mall, Game City, Airport Junction Shopping Centre, NAFPROP and Gaborone International Commerce Park. Skip Hire is the largest and most professional waste management organisation in Botswana, and is well placed to assist its clients with a variety of waste removal and environmental services, including solid and liquid waste removal, treatment of medical waste, processing of electronic waste, landfill management and delivery of drinking quality water.

Regardless of the non-hazardous waste that may be generated, it will be removed and safely disposed of at a licensed Government facility.

Skip Hire’s Environmental policies are well documented and practised within the organisation.

The company’s core business is the rendering of waste management and environmental services, all of which are done to high standards and in accordance with the Licences issued by the Department of Waste Management and Pollution Control. We continually work towards improving our waste collection systems, making them as environmentally friendly as possible. We offer our clients advice on adopting the most practical waste management solutions to benefit their company and to lessen the impact of environmental pollution. Skip Hire staff receive annual refresher training in waste management and environmental conservation, and in terms of the Waste Management Act of 1998, are considered to be “Fit and Proper Persons”.


Our fleet of vehicles are registered and licensed as waste carriers by the Department of Waste Management and Pollution Control. This licence is renewable annually, ensuring that vehicles meet the strict criteria laid down by this Department. Our vehicles are also tested annually for roadworthiness, and thus meet the regulations of the Road Traffic Act. We dispose solid and liquid waste only at licensed disposal facilities. Medical waste is treated at a non-burn, environmentally safe facility. Our vehicles are regularly washed and disinfected to reduce the spread of flies and limit malodours. All residue water first passes through a drain separation system before it is discharged into the sewer system. Our in-house workshop ensures that preventative maintenance is carried out regularly on all vehicles according to specific schedules, thus eliminating oil and diesel leaks into the environment.
